Phew!

Oh what a week. A lot was going on, including an extremely difficult time at a former employer and now client, as 68 friends and colleagues were layed off. I’ve (this is Steve writing) been impacted by tough business decisions twice in my career — KSTW-TV and InfoSpace — and because of the nature of the PR function have been involved in more than a dozen other layoff situations.

There is never an easy way to do a layoff, but the keys in my opinion are compassion, dignity and honesty. This week’s layoff met each, more importantly, the employees impacted demonstrated the fact that they are truly “amazing.”

In addition this week, we started work with our fifth client, a New York-based company focused on the social application space, and condcuted a half-day positioning and messaging workshop with another client that began with us June 1. This client is an expert interactive marketing team. Thoughts on the positioning?
